Ride forYouth gets glamour
AUSTRALIA’S 2014 Home of the Year in Dalkeith will come alive with fashion, jewellery and luxury cars this month to raise money for Youth Focus’ 2015 Ride for Youth.
Giorgi Exclusive Homes, which is sponsoring a team for the second year, will host a fundraiser on February 19 from 6.30pm at its Hobbs Avenue home that won the national HIA-CSR Home of the Year award last year.
Australian fashion from Sana Boutique will be on show, accompanied by Willie Creek Pearls and pieces from Steven Anderson Jewellers, while Lexus of Perth will display its cars in the driveway.
Giorgi general manager Brad Wal- pole will join Adrian Kluge, who will be taking part in his 11th ride this year, Ben Carter, Peter Young, Barry Turner and Paul Hopwood in the team that will ride 700km from Albany to Perth from March 24-28.
Mr Kluge said the team aimed to contribute $50,000 to the $1.7 million expected to be raised.
“Everyone has a different spin on why they do it; for me it’s just about being involved with Youth Focus and supporting the kids that need it,” Mr Kluge said.
“We stop at schools to break the days up but it’s an important part of it to spread the word.”
There will be a record 155 riders this year. Tickets for the Giorgi fundraiser are $100 each, available by calling Renay Pash on 9444 8711.
