Western Suburbs Weekly - - Street Watch -

SINCE December 1, 539 bushfires and 300 undetermined fires have been reported to Strike Force Vulcan, including 361 bushfirearsons across Perth, leading to police dealing with 34 people and laying 45 charges. Significantly, 30 juvenile offenders have been detected. Information from the public has helped identify offenders but officers are still investigating bushfires started in the southern suburbs, Yanchep National Park and surrounding areas. In recent weeks, there has been a spike in the arson-related bushfires and we still need your help to identify those responsible for arson to reduce the risk to our community. Please be vigilant and report any suspicious persons or vehicles in bush by calling 131 444, in a lifethreatening emergencies call 000, and information about incidents to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. With your help we can combat arson this summer. - Detective-Inspector Craig White
