Woman arrested after letterbox theft
A WEST Leederville man was woken by a couple outside his Kimberley Street home about 3.20am on February 11.
Senior Sergeant Kate Vivian said the couple were rattling window, setting off the alarm.
The man said he watched the couple go to a neighbouring park and return with torches to look through his mailbox and take let- ters. It will be alleged they then went to a nearby Lake Monger Drive home and took more mail.
Police will allege details from the stolen letters were written in a notebook carried by an East Perth woman (41) and could have been used in identification fraud.
The woman was arrested at an Australia Post mailbox in Vincent Street, near the Lake Monger Drive house soon after the report. A man escaped on foot. The woman was charged with stealing and bail was refused.
She was remanded in custody to reappear at Perth Magistrates Court on March 12.
