A MAN punched a motorist on the nose during road rage at a Winthrop Avenue intersection about 10.30am on February 13. Police said an Innaloo man (24) was driving east on Stirling Highway when the grey Holden Commodore driven by his attacker drove up behind, over took at speed and cut in front, before accelerating at speed. Both cars arrived at the Winthrop Avenue intersection where insulting gestures and abuse were exchanged, before the Holden driver got and out approached his victim in his car, punching him through an open window and left in the Commodore. The Innaloo man did not need treatment and reported the incident to police immediately.
THIEVES took $2000 from a till after they smashed their way into That Computer Shop, Stirling Highway, Nedlands about 10pm on February 13. Police said the shop’s alarm was activated and a glass panel smashed, a door opened, stock pulled off shelves and the till forced with a tool. However, no computers were taken. Senior Sergeant Kate Vivian said it would be alleged Bunnings staff saw the man go to the solvents section and put a 1.1lt tin of Digger’s enamel thinner costing $10.80 under his big, black jacket before he ran from the store. Officers patrolling on foot nearby saw the man throw the tin back into the store’s yard, before he was chased and arrested. A Gosnells man (32) will be summonsed to face a charge of stealing at court at a later date.
