Events the main game for Cole
BUSINESSWOMAN Rebecca Cole has rebranded her networking business to include an events and conference component.
Northbridge-based Networking WA started in 2008 and next month director Ms Cole and her team will host a Perth Tourism Industry Exchange event under their Event and Conference Co branding.
“We have grown since our initial days; 80 per cent of our business is event management, so that’s become our core focus,” Ms Cole said.
The free Perth Tourism Industry Exchange event on March 12 at the Perth Town Hall from 14pm includes guest speakers Hadrien Le Roy from Google and Perth businesswoman Kate Lamont.
Ms Cole said Mr Le Roy would talk about how digital technology affected people’s travel decisions and Segway Tours WA, which would be exhibiting on the day, would demonstrate how Perth was starting to offer unique activities for tourists.
Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi is encouraging tourism and hospitality providers to show off their products at the information exchange and training day for the industry.
“We are expecting an increase in visitor spending from $4.5 billion to $7.1 billion by 2020 and international tourism export earnings to rise from $1.9 to $3.1 billion,” Ms Scaffidi said.
“We will also see an increase in tourism employment from 36,000 to 47,000 jobs and visitor numbers overall will go from 13 to 22 million.”

Segway Tours WA will exhibit at Rebecca Cole’s tourism event.
