WESTERN Knights Soccer Club will continue its in-house program this year for players born in 2008 and 2009.

The boys and girls aged six and seven, with eight-year-old girls welcome to join the boys group, will train every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, with games from 9am every Sunday at Nash Field.

Parent co- ordinator Barry Bignell, whose children are part of the program, said the players were split into four groups each week, depending on their ability.

“We have really structured training so they learn about how to play in a position, passing and get a good introduction in to the way football should be played,” Bignell, of Mosman Park, said.

“It’s a good starting point for the players.

“It’s very professional and is based on the FFA coaching manual.”

A Western Knights top division player is being sought to coach the group.

On completing the program, players can move on to play juniors for the Mosman Park club.

The season runs from April 19 to September 13 and registration is $280. For more information, call Barry Bignell on 0411 166 692.
