Speed­ing car leads to drug charges

A SPEED­ING car led Wem­b­ley po­lice to a man and his girl­friend with al­legedly 4g of co­caine, 4g of metham­phetamine and $4100 cash at 9.55am on Jan­uary 22.

Se­nior Sergeant Kate Vi­vian said her of­fi­cers pa­trolling Nol­la­mara Av­enue in Nol­la­mara saw a red Holden GTS sedan al­legedly speed­ing. It ac­cel­er­ated into a side street and was later seen be­hind Os­borne Park units, where a man and woman were walk­ing.

The cou­ple was ar­rested, the car searched and a bum bag found in a nearby yard.

“It will be al­leged the man ad­mit­ted own­ing the bag and it con­tained $4100 and about 4g of co­caine and 4g of metham­phetamine in plas­tic clip seal bags, and a glass smok­ing im­ple­ment,” Sgt Vi­vian said.

The woman was re­leased but ar­rested when Perth de­tec­tives raided a Bal­catta house later that day.

A Lock­ridge man (34) was charged with pos­sess­ing metham­phetamine and co­caine to sell or sup­ply, hav­ing un­law­fully ob­tained cash and a cracksmok­ing pipe and was re­manded in cus­tody to reap­pear at Perth Mag­is­trates Court on March 27.

A Bal­la­jura woman (44) was charged with pos­sess­ing metham­phetamine and co­caine and was re­manded to reap­pear at the court on March 24.
