EXERCISING during pregnancy is beneficial and can help with recovery following labour, says Body Logic Physiotherapy physiotherapist Chloe Serrao.
“That is why we are starting an aquatic class for women who are pregnant or have recently given birth,” she said.
“In pregnancy, exercise can assist with the management of blood sugar levels, gestational diabetes, blood pressure and lower back and pelvic girdle pain, as well as maintaining fitness levels in preparation for labour.”
Ms Serrao said exercising in water places less stress on pelvic floor muscles and is lots of fun. Classes are held Tuesday evenings in Mosman Park. Call 9381 7940.
