WEST Coast Amateur Football Club plans to host several night games this season thanks to four light towers being installed recently.

The club has been training under the lights but they will not be fully commissioned until the end of the month.

Town of Cambridge ($50,000), Department of Sport and Recreation ($50,000), West Coast Sporting Association ($50,000) and WA Football Commission ($10,000) funded the $160,000 project.

Tigers president Sam Birmingham said the seniors hoped to play about four home games under lights on Friday or Saturday nights in the 2015 season.

“It’s huge for the club because there’s no other club in the area that has this level of lighting,” Birmingham said. “It’s as good as or even better lighting than Claremont Oval and some other WAFL clubs.

“We’ve also got new clubrooms, so it’s a great home for the players to come back to.”

Tigers will field three senior and one colts team this year to complement its junior club that had 400 members last year.
