A BI­BRA Lake man (46) and a Melville man (43) are charged with ob­struct­ing po­lice when they al­legedly got out of their taxi to com­plain about be­ing de­layed by a ran­dom breath test bus on Roberts Road about 10pm on Fe­bru­ary 27. It will be al­leged the Bi­bra Lake man ap­proached RBT of­fi­cers ag­gres­sively and swore be­fore he was ar­rested, at which point the Melville man and two women in the taxi in­ter­vened, pulling of­fi­cers away, be­fore the Melville man was pushed away by one of­fi­cer’s hand. “He has then ‘the­atri­cally’ thrown him- self on to a po­lice car’s bon­net and dam­aged its emer­gency lights,” Se­nior Sergeant Kate Vi­vian said. The Bi­bra Lake man was charged with dam­age and ob­struct­ing po­lice, and the Melville man with dis­or­derly con­duct and ob­struct­ing po­lice, be­fore both were bailed to later ap­pear in court.

A WIN­DOW to a fam­ily room was forced when thieves took an Audi to carry their haul from raid­ing a Gloster Street house be­tween 8.30am and 3.30pm on Fe­bru­ary 26. Se­nior Sergeant Kate Vi­vian said rooms were searched be­fore keys for the Audi were taken among the haul that in­cluded a Playsta­tion, a $9500 rac­ing bi­cy­cle, an iPad, cos­tume jew­ellery, a dig­i­tal cam­era and $260 cash. The Audi was re­cov­ered in a driv­able con­di­tion in Nol­la­mara about 1pm the fol­low­ing day. of cash on Stir­ling High­way be­tween 5.30am and 6am on March 3. Po­lice said a side door to the restau­rant was forced, be­fore an undis­closed amount of cash was taken. CCTV footage is cur­rently be­ing as­sessed.
