Breakthrough for Jegatheva
PERTH Modern School student Rahul Jegatheva (13) was the best under-18 swimmer and third best male overall at the Barret Bunbury Swim Thru over the recent long weekend.
The Joondanna swimmer finished third in the 1.6km course behind Andrew Donaldson and Simon Huitenga.
On Labour Day, he beat 138 competitors to finish first in the 1.25km Swimming WA Open Water Series in Rockingham.
This result secured him the best under-18 male swimmer title.
Rahul said he was pleased with his performances.
“I’ve won the age group gold medal for a number of Open Water races before, but this was the first time I finished overall first in an open water race against the entire field,” he said.
Beating the whole field was extra special for Rahul Jegatheva.
