PERTH artist Louise Clarke is holding her first local exhibition, First Impressions: Australia and Beyond, at Houghton Winery Gallery, Middle Swan from March 28 to April 29.

The April exhibition showcases oil- painted impressionist landscapes of inspiring locations, including Australia, Europe and America.

Clarke said she painted land- scapes that inspired her to capture a particular moment in time.

“The light, season, weather, scenery are always changing,” she said.

“My aim is to reflect the way the elements of nature combine to create a particular mood, and paint my impression of that moment in a beautiful piece of art.

“It could be the stillness of remote hilltop towns in Sicily, windswept rocky lighthouses in coastal California, quiet bays with ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico, the Blue Mountains in NSW or the stunning beaches around Perth.

“I recently returned to Australia after living abroad for more than 15 years and have fallen in love again with this beautiful, vast and isolated country.”

The exhibition is open 10am4pm daily.

Louise Clarke has captured impressions of beautiful locations all over the world in her exhibition at Houghton Winery Gallery.
