Subsidy good news for clubs
SPORT clubs can get $500 from the State Government in the latest round of the Community Sporting Club Equipment Subsidy announced last week.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mia Davies said 474 Perth clubs had $237,000 from previous subsidy rounds and had used the money to develop local sport including creating junior teams, getting new baseball gloves, bats and flippers, and in one case, a horse jump.
The Department of Sport and Recreation’s four-year scheme has $1 million for Perth clubs and $1 million for those in the country. Applications are at www. dsr.wa.gov.au and close on April 17.
