Mayoral chains linked over four decades

THREE generations of Subiaco mayors will celebrate the suburb’s rich history at Subiaco Day events on April 10. Mayor Heather Henderson, Tony Costa and Richard Diggins have together spent almost four decades wearing the mayoral chains and leading Subiaco Council. “There are many threads woven throughout Subiaco that we have each been committed to over the years,” Mrs Henderson said. “Richard’s council were the first to start retaining the built fabric and history of Subiaco, they were really interested in the past and how to keep and nurture it. “They were involved in the development of the memorial arms, relationship with the Benedictine Monks community and setting up our sister city relationship in Italy; which Tony and I have worked hard to follow on with.”
