Actor coming Home
WHILE he lights up our screens on Home and Away every evening, Johnny Ruffo has not forgotten where he came from.
The boy from Balcatta was recently home for his 10-year high school reunion and will return to Perth next month for Polo in the Valley on April 19.
Currently working on new music, Ruffo said he was looking forward to coming home and supporting Telethon as part of his appearance in the Telethon Adventurers Marquee.
“It will be my third time from memory,” he said.
“I’m a big supporter of Telethon and Princess Margaret Hospital, so anything I can do to give back, it’s a great reason to do so.”
Having taken a break from music for a while, Ruffo said he was excited to be back where it all began and could not wait to release some of the songs he had been working on.
“I took a bit of time off music and focused on that, which is great, but I’m really happy with what I’m doing at the moment onscreen and filming, so I decided to jump back into the studio earlier this year and have been flat out,” he said.
“I have a lot of new music coming out and will be filming a music video in April.”
Hoping to release the new single in Perth, Ruffo said it was important to be with the people who supported him from the beginning.
“I’m going to come back and do quite a few performances. We might even do the launch there for the new single,” he said.
Ruffo will attend the Polo in the Valley with fellow Home and Away star Nic Westaway and Telethon Adventurer’s ambassador and former Packed to the Rafters star George Houvardas.
