DEVAHASDIN is celebrating being 21 years young rather than 21-years-old this month.

Sandra Devahasdin founded the West Perth public relations, social media, events and marketing company in 1994 after learning the business trade during stints with the Sheraton Hotel and a weight loss firm.

“I watched what people did and gave it a go,” Ms Devahasdin said.

The Scotland-raised mother of two sons moved to Perth in 1985 after finishing a dietician and science degree.

“I had $300 in my pocket and my first job was at the Osborne Park Hotel,” Ms Devahasdin said.

The boutique agency that recently branched out to include a social media arm started in the Devahasdin Mt Lawley home when her now 22-yearold son Ronan was just a year old.

“It was just me to start with…I didn’t even have a computer and couldn’t even type,” she said.

From there Devahasdin moved to her home in Northbridge before expanding to have its own office in West Perth where she has 12 staff.

To mark 21 years, the team has a ’21 Random Acts of Kindness’ project that could happen anytime, anywhere.

“I’ve had so many wonderful opportunities, so it’s time to give back.”
