Western Suburbs Weekly - - Arts -

SEAGULLS are a common sight around Fremantle; just do not freak out if you see an oversized pair of birds running for your fish and chips this weekend.

The Giant Seagulls have flown into town all the way from the United Kingdom to take part in this weekend’s Fremantle Street Arts Festival and will be taking every opportunity to steal some food and create a bit of havoc.

One seagull said they had been roving around cities all over the world since 1999.

“The absolute joy of our job is that we get to make people laugh for a living,” he said.

“That’s a pretty nice thing to have in your life and it also keeps us very joyful in our day to day lives.

“We are very excited about coming to Fremantle for the Street Arts Festival and the program looks fantastic, with all sorts of amazing performers from around the world.”

The Giant Seagulls will be roving from Little Creatures and Norfolk Hotel on Saturday from 1pm and 3pm respectively. Sunday will see them start from Victoria Quay at 1pm and Little Creatures from 4pm and Monday they will start from the Norfolk Hotel at 2pm and Little Creatures at 4pm.
