Cape Mentelle’s Wilyabrup 2012

Cape Mentelle is not only excelling with their $95 premium black label cabernet sauvignons, their ‘Wilyabrup’ is also amongst Australia’s great sub $50 cabernets.

The current and fifth release is from the 2012 vintage and, whilst the 2011 release was a step up on those prior, the 2012 is clearly the best to date.

The quality of the fruit is exceptional, as is the winemaking.

Though very young, this is marvellous current drinking and will improve with, and handle with ease, up to 15 years of cellaring.

The Liquor Baron stores in Swanbourne and Dalkeith and the RE Store in Leederville have older Cape Mentelle Cabernets.

The last stocks of the 2011 Woodlands ‘ Margaret’ and the Fraser Gallop Cabernet Sauvignons are available and they join this 2012 Cape Mentelle Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon amongst the great sub $50 cabernets in Australia today.
