Manager re­signed

SUBIACO'S place manager, hailed as the ‘ saviour of Subiaco’, has re­signed nine months af­ter his ap­point­ment.

The City of Subiaco's elected mem­bers’ bul­letin last Thurs­day said Matthew Gould re­signed for "per­sonal rea­sons" and a con­fi­den­tial deed had been signed be­tween both par­ties.

Mr Gould came un­der scru­tiny in Septem­ber last year when he can­celled the 15th an­nual Subi Street Fes­ti­val due to plan­ning and bud­get de­lays.

He was re­port­edly on a $200,000 an­nual salary for his role as place manager and run­ning the City-owned events and mar­ket­ing team Visit Subiaco.

Man­age­ment of Visit Subiaco was brought in­house at the City af­ter busi­ness-run group Pro Subi wound up May 2013.

Visit Subiaco had a bud­get of $726,500 for the 2014/ 2015 fi­nan­cial year: $198,000 has been spent on mar­ket­ing and events, $125,000 on busi­ness ex­penses and $104,000 on em­ployee costs.
