MERCY Place Mont Clare, Claremont assistant nurse Mayumi Morales is waiting to find out if she will go through to the live rounds of television show TheXFactor.

Morales’ singing history dates back to her time in the Philippines, where she majored in classical voice at the University of the Philippines, and even travelled to Hollywood as a 13-year-old to represent her country in the world championships of performing arts.

Last month the assistant nurse auditioned to study classical voice performing at the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

In the meantime, she will continue to sing to her biggest fans at Mont Clare, accompanied by pianist and resident Stephanie Coleman.
