Much-loved ‘Polly’ at Falcons forum
WEST Perth Football Club premiership player Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer was a starring special guest at a fortnightly catch up of former players recently.
Up to 20 former Falcons players catch up at The Mezz, Mt Hawthorn to reminisce about their playing days, particularly the premiership years.
But last month, Polly’s son Dean Farmer took his dad, who has dementia, to the regular gathering where about 25 people were waiting to enjoy his fellowship.
John Vukman, who wore the West Perth colours in the 1960s, said it was a great afternoon and Polly showed some indication of remembering his playing days.
“He’s held in such a high regard and was part of two grand finals,” the West Leederville businessman said.
Mt Hawthorn used to be the catchment area for the football club.
“I am thrilled our national team will play their first match on the road to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia at Perth Oval, which has recently undergone a $95.14 million redevelopment.”
