Fris­bee throw­ers hope Kaos reigns this week­end

PERTH ul­ti­mate fris­bee team Kaos is hop­ing to im­prove on its sil­ver medal at the 2014 Cham­pi­onships when they com­pete at the an­nual Aus­tralian Ul­ti­mate Cham­pi­onships at UWA Sports Park, Mt Clare­mont this long week­end.

Kaos is among three lo­cal women’s teams that will com­pete against Aus­tralian and New Zealand teams from April 24-27.

Sil­ver medal­list and Clare­mont res­i­dent Geri Daube said the team was hop­ing to put on a solid per­for­mance but would be chal­lenged by a cou­ple of New South Wales and Vic­to­rian teams.

“We’ll def­i­nitely have the home-ground ad­van­tage be­cause we play on those fields ev­ery week,” Daube said.

The 29-year-old has played in four Na­tion­als af­ter tak­ing up the sport five years ago.

There will be 12 women’s and 13 men’s teams com­pet­ing over the week­end.

The City of Perth is cel­e­brat­ing the event by host­ing a free Ul­ti­mate Film Fes­ti­val in the North­bridge Pi­azza this Thurs­day from 6.30pm. Visit­tion­als.ul­ti­mate­fris­ for more.
