LEEDERVILLE jeweller Rohan Milne has sourced handpicked amethyst stones for a pendant that will be sold to raise money for more breast cancer nurses.

“Purple has been synonymous with campaigns in the past, so I sourced and found some amethyst gems,” the Rohan Jewellery owner said.

“They’re not just standard gems, they’re imperial grade and absolutely stunning.”

With help from Community Newspaper Group, Mr Milne will design and hand make a pendant in the shape of an hour glass to support the Buying Time campaign that will raise money for Breast Cancer Care WA and the McGrath Foundation.

“There’ll be two main pieces (to the pendant) and we might try and add some diamonds to lift it a little,” Mr Milne said.

The campaign industry leader said breast care nurses were so important for people with breast cancer and their extended families.

“They’re not just there for the patients, they help families with day to day life,” Mr Milne said.

Breast Cancer Care WA founder Ros Worthington officially launched the campaign, which encourages employees at workplaces across the State to donate an hour’s wage to the cause, on International Women’s Day. Visit http://buyingtime.go
