Not just a run of the Miller production

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Comedy -

ALL My Sons was the play that first established Arthur Miller’s voice in American theatre and as a playwright worth noting.

Full of post-war angst and guilt, the family drama examines the ‘American Dream’ and the ramifications of when it was shattered.

Third-year WAAPA acting students will present a season of the production under the direction of Melbourne-based Tom Healey.

“More than 60 years after it was minted, Miller’s theatre, brutal and uncompromising, speaks with utter originality, compassion and truth,” Healey said.

“His plays are lightning rods which connect us to the deep power and potential of being alive.”

All My Sons is at Roundhouse Theatre, WAAPA, Mt Lawley, from May 1 to 7.
