CITY of Subiaco is on the hunt for a new chief executive.

Ian Hill was appointed acting chief executive for a five-month term to end on June 30, when Stephen Tindale retired in January.

Mayor Heather Henderson said council went behind closed doors last Tuesday night to extend Mr Hill’s contract for more time to recruit a new chief executive.

“Mr Hill was only meant to be here until the end of June, back when we thought Subiaco would be amalgamated and we would all be sacked and go home and have a peaceful life,” Mrs Henderson said.

Council appointed WA Local Government Association Recruitment Services to liase with the CEO Recruitment Panel and councillors.

The City is offering a five-year salary package, (including superannuation, car and other benefits) of between $201,433 and $311,907.

Mrs Henderson said depending on where the new chief executive comes from, they needed a contingency plan in place.
