Kids enjoy safe walk
WEST Leederville Primary School students embraced the message of National Walk Safely to School Day last month.
The community initiative aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking can provide for children.
Pedestrian Council of Australia chief executive Harold Scruby said unless teachers, parents, carers and the community got behind the event and its objectives, the outlook for Australia’s children was not good.
Students from West Leederville primary also enjoyed a healthy breakfast as part of the campaign’s focus on improved diets.
