CITIZEN Advocacy Perth West members celebrated National Volunteer Week by encouraging West Australians to get involved.

CAPW co-ordinator Rosalind Lewis said ‘give happy, live happy’ was the theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week.

Ms Lewis said National Volunteer Week provided an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in the community and to thank the more than six million Australians who volunteered.

CAPW identifies and assists people with intellectual disabilities who may be vulnerable or facing specific challenges or risks.

“Most of the people we assist do not have a supportive network of involved family,” she said.

CAPW is seeking people to take on a range of volunteer roles. No specific experience is required. For details, visit www.capw.org.au.
