Mum threatened in front of kids
A MAN allegedly threatened to shoot his partner as her children watched in a car near Daglish Railway Station on Railway Parade in Daglish late on May 28.
“It will be alleged he pointed a loaded rifle at her and threatened to shoot her if she left him,” Senior Sergeant Kate Vivian said.
The woman (25), her partner and the children had been living at an East Cannington house, before she and the children were homeless after leaving the house a day earlier.
An argument, culminating in the woman allegedly being hit and the threat to kill, occurred when the man and the woman met in the car near the train station.
“After which, the man and the woman fell asleep, and when the woman woke she ran from the car with the children to seek help,” Snr Sgt Vivian said.
Police arrested the man and a search of the car uncovered a .22 sawn-off rifle with a telescopic sight, a silencer, an ammunition magazine and ammunition.
An East Cannington man (32) was charged with threatening to kill, two counts of assault and multiple firearms offences. He was remanded in custody to reappear at Perth Magistrates Court on June 11. The Women’s Domestic Violence Helpline can be contacted on 9223 1188 or 1800 007 339.
