Western Suburbs Weekly - - Local Focus -

COMBINING personalised care and modern technologies, Azure Medical goes far beyond treating illness.

Owner and principal GP Richard Newton has extensive experience, working in a range of medical capacities throughout his 24 years as a doctor.

Dr Newton worked in the armed forces in the UK, giving him a military perspective on medicine.

He moved to Australia 13 years ago and worked as a resident doctor at an iron ore mine in the Pilbara and as a medical director of a large corporate practice in WA.

“My range of experience has enabled me to put together what I hope are the best bits of each model to create the practice of the future,” he said.

A variety of extended services are available at Azure Medical, including body composition scanning, a method of determining body fat percentage, muscle percentage and bone density.

Dr Newton said along with the in-house dietician and gym next to the practice, this information gave patients excellent motivation to take control of their health.

GP Merci Kusel has a special interest in women’s health laser treatments for conditions including incontinence and prolapse.

Azure Medical specialises in skin health and provides a range of treatments on site.

“We recognise appearance is an important part of people’s health; it can affect their mood, wellbeing and confidence,” Dr Newton said.
