Council has new chief
COTTESLOE Council’s new chief executive is Mat Humfrey, who has been acting in the role since the departure of Carl Askew to the Shire of East Kimberley in April.
“Mr Humfrey joined the Town as manager of corporate and community services four years ago, and his lengthy career in local government, 16 years in total, includes three years as deputy-chief executive at the Wheatbelt town of Dalwallinu, immediately before coming to Cottesloe, following positions at Brookton, Chittering and Wanneroo-Joondalup prior to that,” Mayor Jo Dawkins said.
At a special meeting last Monday, Mr Humfrey was chosen from a shortlist of about six, after about 40 applications were received.
Mr Humfrey has a five year-contract and $195,000 annual salary that will be reviewed after his first year.
Mat Humfrey has replaced Carl Askew as Cottesloe CEO.
