Life rosy for gardening team

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Health -

EVERYTHING is coming up roses for the City of Nedlands’ parks services team.

The gardening team were presented with a Pride of Workmanship award by the Dalkeith Rotary Club at a special dinner last week for their “outstanding presentation” of the Peace Memorial Rose Garden on Stirling Highway.

Rotary vocational service committee director Chris Cole said everyone admired the well-known rose garden.

“We wondered who actually did all the work, so we called the council and were put on to the parks team. They do a wonderful job. The way they keep the roses blooming so much is fantastic,” Mr Cole said.

Mayor Max Hipkins said it was a very well-deserved award.

“The team do a great job tending the gardens and when the roses bloom, they always look stunning,” Mr Hipkins said.

Job well done... the City of Nedlands’ parks services team.
