Councils’ joint effort
PEPPERMINT Grove Council intends to join a $108,000, three-year project to share IT services with neighbouring Cottesloe Council.
It is part of an initial regional resource sharing effort after a failed merger.
“What we’re saying is we want to invest in someone else’s network and invest in the new technology that’s coming online,” Peppermint Grove corporate services manager Paul Rawlings said.
Mr Rawlings said personal payment services preferred by its ratepayers would be retained, while the system on which the council currently spends $50,000 annually would be modernised.
