WEST Australian Young Voices will present its first concert for the year, Falling, featuring music about autumn, love and the fallen.

The performance will be at Church of St Mary the Virgin, South Perth, from 5pm on Sunday, June 28.

The children’s choir features choristers aged from eight to 16, including boy soprano Archie Hoddinott, of Mosman Park, accompanied by St Mary’s organist Alessandro Pittorino.

Conductor Perry Joyce said the concert was a representation of autumnal change.

“The choir and I have been discussing ways of expressing sometimes confronting issues in an uplifting and empowering way,” Perry said.

“We sing of soldiers from World War I, the beauty of nature, falling in love, whilst also honouring master composers like Bach.”
