Global Games bring students together
NINE University of WA students will represent Australia at the 28th Summer World University Games in Gwangju, Korea in July.
The World University Games, known as Universiade, are a sporting and cultural festival staged every two years in both summer and winter.
The Summer Universiade is the only multisport event in the world that connects students at academic and athletic levels.
More than 100 television channels broadcast the games, which include 10 compulsory sports and up to three optional sports.
The UWA team competing at the games from July 3 to 14 includes Elliot Clutterbuck, Tori Leonhard, Zak Leonhard, Kai Png, Holly Barratt, Nicholas Brown, Lilian Hedges, Andrew Ford and Lachlan Pethick.
