Major medical centre under way
THE building foundation for a second major research facility at the QEII Medical Centre is being laid.
The $37.7 million project will include rooms for assessments and treatments.
There will also be tissue culture laboratories and facilities for neurodiscovery movement analysis, physiology research, experiments and cryogenic archival storage.
The 8932sq m building, to be completed late 2016, will also accommodate Curtin University's Neuroscience Research Laboratory, the Ear Science Institute of Australia and the McCusker Alzheimer's Research Foundation, among others.
