PLAYWRIGHT Peta Murray will be holding a talk at the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre next month.
Murray is the adapting writer of Tim Winton’s Blueback and will join Spare Parts artistic director Philip Mitchell and a number of performers on stage for ‘Tackling the D-word; exploring emotional intelligence on stage’.
The talk is part of Spare Parts’ new post-show discussion series “In Conversation”.
Mitchell said it was a unique opportunity to discuss Blueback’s major themes of grief and resilience and to learn how as a playwright Murray developed those themes for children’s theatre.
He said Spare Parts was dedicated to stories that celebrated humanity.
Murray will be at the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre on July 8 from 7.30pm. Visit www.sppt.asn.au.
