Western Suburbs Weekly - - Driveway -

PRESBYTERIAN Ladies’ College came out on top at last Saturday’s IGSSA Head of the River rowing regatta.

PLC won the First Eight Race with the Methodist Ladies’ College team second and Perth College third.

They also won the Wendy Zuideveld Perpetual Head of the River Trophy and the Overall Season Premier’s Trophy.

PLC head of sport Annette Pearce said conditions were tough, including a last-minute change of venue.

“Conditions were very tricky and trying for all rowers on the day, which added to the excitement of the day, especially with the late change in the venue to Canning Bridge and not Champion Lakes,” Ms Pearce said.

“For PLC to win the Wendy Zuideveld Perpetual Trophy, as well as the Perpetual Trophy for Schoolgirl Premiers was a total effort by all PLC rowers and as a school and community we could not be prouder of the girls and coaches.

“The day was topped off by our First Eight, coached by David Milne, winning. ”
