WEST Coast Fever goal attack Natalie Medhurst received the club’s 2015 Most Valuable Player award just hours after returning from Sydney where she was named in the Australian Diamonds team.

Medhurst beat captain Ashleigh Brazill by two votes at the club’s annual awards night.

The sharp-shooter ended the season with 197 goals and impressed voters with her knowledge, creativity with the ball and accuracy.

“Nat had a brilliant season where she was ranked in the top 10 for goal assists, and her composure and knowledge of the game definitely set her apart from the competition this season,” coach Stacey Rosman said.

“Her competitive nature and elusiveness sees her rarely beaten by opponents and this award is another accolade that she will certainly cherish.”

Ingrid Colyer received the Coaches Award, Brazill won the Player’s Player Award, Club Person of the Year went to strength coach Jordan Stares and Caitlin Bassett won the public-voted Player of the Season.

Bassett was also named in the Diamonds team that will play for the Netball World Cup in Sydney from August 7 to 16.

Late last week, Fever had signed up Brazill, Medhurst, Bassett and defender Josie JanzDawson for the 2016 season.
