Sisters land dream gig

MELBOURNE rockers Stonefield will be heading to Fremantle this weekend as they round out their national tour.

The Findlay sisters will head to Mojos Bar to perform a collection of favourites, as well as some fresh stuff from their new collection Golden Dream.

Lead singer Amy Findlay said they shared a love of music as they grew up together and were looking forward to capping off their tour in Fremantle.

“Nobody wanted to be the same as one another, so we all picked different instruments and it just made sense to practise together and before we knew it we were writing our own songs,” she said.

“We’re heavily influenced by ’70s rock, but cover dreamy psychedelic sounds to stoner rock and add our own modern sound.

“On this tour we will be road testing a lot of new music that we’ve been working on for our new album, so we’re looking forward to sharing that with people.

“We’re really excited to be heading back to Fremantle because it’s such a beautiful part of the country and playing at Mojos a few years back was a really memorable gig for us.”

Stonefield will be performing at Mojos Bar on July 12.
