DON’T LET THIEVES CHIP AWAY AT CARDS

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Streetwatch -

With today's technology, it is easy for criminals to steal bankcards and access your accounts before you know they are gone, because most cards have the PayPass feature. It is a chip embedded in the card that allows shoppers to swipe or tap the card for items up to the value of $100 without the need for a signature or PIN. If you lose the card or have one stolen, make sure you contact your bank immediately to stop unauthorised transactions. Criminals can make unauthorised transactions quickly after cards have been stolen. In some cases, transactions worth thousands of dollars have been made before the victim realised the card was missing.
