Bumpy ride welcomed by riders

A MODERN bike pump track has replaced the old BMX facility at College Park.

The City of Nedlands reopened the track and youth recreation centre earlier this month in time for the school holidays.

Common Ground Trails designed and constructed the track in consultation with the WA Mountain Bike Association and WestCycle.

Mayor Max Hipkins said the multi-generational track was a valued addition to the City’s youth facilities.

“The City is fortunate to have many beautiful, natural parks, so to have the track in a natural environment is an advantage for the City,” Mr Hipkins said.

Local bike rider Kaitlyn Tjahyadi (10) said she really liked the new track.

“It is very fun and has lots of different ways you can go and lots of bumps,” she said.
