Of­fi­cer knocked out in sta­tion scuf­fle

A MAN as­saulted two Transperth of­fi­cers at Clare­mont train sta­tion about 10.45pm on June 7.

De­tec­tive-Con­sta­ble Ryan Byrne said one of the of­fi­cers was hit on the head and he fell to the ground and lost con­scious­ness be­fore the of­fi­cer’s part­ner scuf­fled with the man, sub­du­ing him with pep­per spray and hand­cuffs.

“The man who was ar­rested was in the com­pany of another man dur­ing the in­ci­dent and po­lice would like to know the iden­tity of this man to as­sist with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion into this se­ri­ous as­sault,” DetConst Byrne said.

The sec­ond man (pic­tured) was de­scribed as light­skinned, aged 20-30, slim, about 175cm tall with long, brown hair tied up. He was wear­ing dark-coloured pants and a light-coloured jacket.
