announcers Lisa and Pete, will host the evening, featuring live music by Hoodoo Gurus and supported by Slim Jim and the Phatts.
The ’80s theme has proved a popular choice with 1985 – also the year event sponsors Community Newspaper Group was formed – recently voted the best year in music by station listeners.
Mix94.5 music director Russell Clarke said the decade had been a favourite with the station’s music jury for some time.
“The average mix94.5 listener is in their late 30s/early 40s and, because they grew up in the ’80s, have a particular affection for music from that era,” Clarke said.
“1985 was a memorable year in music from that decade due to Live Aid, USA for Africa and great movie soundtracks like The Breakfast Club.
“It was also very strong for great pop hits from artists such as Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Wham!, A-ha and Go West.”
Tickets are available online at www.oztix.com.au and all money raised will buy vital equipment for Princess Margaret Hospital.
