A SPECIAL four-legged employee has arrived at Thomas Meihofer Jewellery Design on Rokeby Road.

Owners Thomas Meihofer and Wendy Page officially became “puppy parents” to 18-week-old Xoloitzcuintli Dexter last month.

“As well as providing hours of entertainment for all of us at Thomas Meihofer, Dexter’s job description includes modelling and road testing Thomas’ new range of custom designed sterling silver dog tags, which have been made to reflect his breed and personality,” Ms Page said.

The hairless Xoloitzcuintli is an ancient primitive dog native to Mexico that dates back at least 3000 years.

“Dexter is becoming quite a celebrity in Subiaco,” Ms Page said.

“Every time we go on one of our frequent walks, people stop and ask about him and his breed. Being hairless, he attracts a lot of attention.”
