‘Transitional’ dog allowed
TOWN of Claremont councillors have given Dunbar Road resident Catherine Adams an exemption to have three dogs, one of which is a deaf cocker spaniel aged 11 and nearing the end of its life.
“I see having three dogs as purely transitional, as once my cocker spaniel has crossed the rainbow bridge I don’t intend getting another animal,” Ms Adams said.
She sought approval to keep a twomonth-old briard housedog in addition to a two-year-old briard and the spaniel.
A staff report said Ms Adams had said she would find ways to reduce barking noise that had prompted a neighbour to complain during public consultation.
