Tony over moon at wed­ding boost

WED­DING bells are in the air for Can­ning­ton res­i­dent Tony Liu, one of the win­ners in the first week of Com­mu­nity News­pa­per Group’s $30,000 give­away.

Mr Liu has set a date to get mar­ried this year and said his $1000 prize would be go­ing to­wards his and his fiance’s hon­ey­moon.

“We’re go­ing to the States and it will be my first time vis­it­ing Amer­ica,” he said.

“I haven’t told my fiance where the money’s go­ing yet but she was pretty ex­cited when I told her I had won.”

When Mr Liu re­ceived the phone call last week from Com­mu­nity he ini­tially thought he had won a movie ticket, but was very happy to dis­cover he had in­stead won $1000 cash.

Mr Liu has had good luck with com­pe­ti­tions, with travel a com­mon theme, hav­ing pre­vi­ously won a re­turn trip to Syd­ney.

Since mov­ing to Can­ning­ton about eight years ago, Mr Liu said he had be­come a reg­u­lar reader of his lo­cal pa­per.
