Call for ratepayer say on war memorial move

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Street Watch -

CLAREMONT ratepayers will get a say over plans to relocate the war memorial.

Claremont councillors gave unanimous support for public involvement in plans to relocate the “iconic and prominent” war memorial last week, with reports of deterioration due to traffic vibrations and chemicals.

Cr Chris Mews said he strongly supported ratepayer involvement.

“The community paid to put it there, they should have a say if it goes.”
