PEPPERMINT Grove’s Lady Jean BrodieHall celebrated her 90th birthday with about 30 friends at her home this month.

The founding patron of the University of WA’s Centenary Trust For Women is also a prominent West Australian landscape architect.

CTW recently announced it would establish a scholarship in honour of Lady Jean for students studying architecture, environmental engineering or landscape architecture.

In 1970, UWA employed Lady Jean to report on the changes to pedestrian and vehicle movement caused by a recently completed underpass from the north of the campus.

Four years later, she was appointed the inaugural University Landscape Architect, responsible for the planning, design and maintenance of the Crawley campus.
