Long Aussie summers inspire
FEMININE and relaxed with a luxurious feel is how designer Jonte Pike describes her new collection Jonté Paradisus Resort 2016.
Pike, who began her design company in 2012, will showcase her latest collection at this year’s Perth Fashion Festival as part of the WA Designer Runway 2 on September 19.
Having worked on the designs for a few months, Pike said the process included the initial designing, fabric choice, sampling and photographic shoot.
“The collection features some beautiful handbeaded details which took some time to create and develop,” Pike said.
“The unique beaded patterns used throughout the collection form a significant part of the luxe feel. Currently the collection is in production, which will be ready for sale after the Perth Fashion Festival Designer Showcase the collection is featured in.”
Pike said long Australian summers were the inspiration for her collection that embodied a luxe holiday feel with ’70s undertones.
“It still embodies the Jonte feel which is eclectic, juxtaposed and uses various textures mixed together,” she said.
“It’s quite feminine and relaxed with a luxurious feel, whereas other collections I have done have been quite styled and bold.” Pike, who recently moved into her new design studio in Balcatta, said her pieces would enable her buyers to visit the showroom and pick from her many designs or borrow from her new hire section.
“Jonte Designer Hire has launched this month and will include beautiful occasion and evening wear available to hire for events,” she said.
“This hire collection will include exclusive designs which can only be obtained from our hire studio, so there are no chances of bumping into someone with the same dress at an event.
“It will include a variety of dresses and gowns in various sizes for a customer’s show-stopping moment.”
Jonté Pike will be showing her resort collection at this year's Perth Fashion Festival.
