DAMAGE AT ROOT OF REMOVAL

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

CLAREMONT Council voted to axe a 50-year-old ficus tree last week. Councillors unanimously supported cutting down the tree on the corner of Osborne Parade and Stirling Highway because of damage caused by its root system. The Town allocated $3600 to remove and replace the 13m tree. “I hate to see a tree taken out, it is a very sad thing,” Cr Karen Wood said. “The damage the roots do is very nasty and it costs the Town a lot of money.”
